Buyers Guide

STEPS TO BUYING YOUR HOME

1. PRE-QUALIFICATION

Currently, the real estate market is competitive, and sellers are looking for pre-approved buyers. You can begin the pre-approval process by applying with your chosen lender and providing them with the financial information they require. Usually, you will find out if you are pre-approved for one or more programs within 24 hours and you will receive a pre-approval letter to start your home search.

2. HOME SEARCH

Your agent will ask you to sign an agency agreement which is required by the Arkansas Real Estate Commission. This must be done prior to visiting any properties.

Now that you have found a real estate agent who fits your personality and makes you feel comfortable, let them know your priorities, such as price, location, size, number of bedrooms, etc.

3. AFTER ACCEPTANCE

You have the right to inspect the house and submit a written list of repair items within 10 business days of acceptance of your offer.

The seller has 3 business days after acceptance of the offer to provide the buyer with a Seller’s Property Disclosure and a Lead Based Paint Disclosure (if applicable).
